Quit Coaches
Quit coaches help you take control of your quit attempt
They don’t call them “coaches” for nothing. You’re the key player, but your quit coach is trained to provide you with the support and tools you need to quit for good.
Quit coaches are strategists. They will help you learn how to break the physical addiction to nicotine, while helping you unlearn thought patterns that have given tobacco control in your life. Together, you will work to develop new ways of thinking. Your quit coach will help you:
- Assess your smoking history and individual needs
- Identify personal patterns and triggers that cause your desire to smoke
- Develop a plan to prepare for your quit date and beyond
- Make a decision about quit medications and nicotine patches or gum
Quit coaches are ordinary people… with extraordinary training
Just like people who call the quit line, quit coaches come from every walk of life. They represent multiple ethnicities, speak 10 different languages, span several decades in age and have lived in over 40 states.
Like most people, many quit coaches have been affected by tobacco. Some are former smokers or have lost a loved one to a tobacco-related illness. That’s why quit coaches are passionate about helping people overcome their tobacco addiction.
Coaches complete over 240 hours of training and evaluation – and most have at least three years prior experience in counseling.
